Hajia Teslimat Yusuf Interview

Q- Tell me about yourself.
A- My name is Teslimat Yusuf. I was born and bred in Nigeria but relocated to the UK at the age of 19 to study for my First Degree, ACCA and my MBA. I've been living in the UK since then.
I'm a qualified Chartered Accountant by qualification and a Freelance Makeup Artist by profession.

We interviewed the muslim fashion stylist called Hajia Belle Styles and here is what she has to say;

Q-  What inspired you to b a muslimah stylist. when did u start using s hijab.did ur starting to use hijab influence you been a stylist.
A-  I started covering my hair using the turban style in 2008 and didn't start the full hijab until 2013. Before I started wearing the veil as an hijab I told a couple of my friends I was planning to start and I remembered them saying I'll look different and not too nice (believing the hijab will make me look drab). I took this as a challenge and wanted to prove to them that I'll still be the same old me but just more modest. This influenced my love and passion for styling myself and others.

QYou also into make up? When did u start doing makeup?
A- I got into makeup artistry in 2012 by chance. I went for a two-days class to learn how to make myself up and my friends started encouraging me to make them up whenever they were going for parties and I really enjoyed making them up. I started making others up as a profession a year later.
QWhat other things do u do apart from make up n stylist. AS a muslim wife and mother how do u balance your career n d home?
A- I'm a wife and a mother before all these above. It's really not easy balancing all these with my day to day life but Alhamdulillahi I manage everything by prioritizing my job roles according to their importance. This helps me run my life as a wife, mum, makeup artist and stylist better.

Q-   What's your plan for d future? What message do u wish to pass across to your admirers?
A- To my lovely sisters out there; Always believe in yourself and trust in Allah. Whatever you wish to do, dedicate it to Allah and trust in him to do it in his own time.
